Hercules Against The Moon Men (1964) (v. short review)

Hercules is summoned to oppose the evil Queen Samara, who has allied herself with aliens and is sacrificing her own people in a bid to awaken a moon goddess. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058311/)

Starring Alan Steel (real name Sergio Ciani) as Hercules. Another old film where the men’s skirts are shorter than the women’s… there’s a trend developing here. Surprisingly slow in parts with lots of running through caves but overall fun. Would seem Hercules’ fighting style is swing large objects around and ‘pick up and throw’ attackers. Oh, and smile because he enjoys a good fight. The stone monsters were definitely worthy of very early Doctor Who (William Hartnell era) 🙂 And never is a hair out of place in Hercules’ carefully coiffured hairstyle – not even during the seemingly never-ending storm sequence towards the end!
